About our Silk

See below for more information regarding our silk and the little about the terminology:

  • Mulberry Silk – All of our bed linen is made from the highest quality silk you can purchase. It is made from silkworms that are raised in captivity under exacting conditions and fed exclusively on mulberry leaves. It is also the most expensive type of silk.
  • Long Fibre Silk – (Sometimes also called ‘Long Staple Silk’) This is stronger and smoother than short fibre silk and used in our duvets.
  • Silk Momme – This is the unit used to grade silk quality, and the higher the weight the better the quality. Anything above 16 momme is considered very high quality. 19 Momme silk is the smoothest, creamiest, and shiniest type of silk.
  • Charmeuse Silk – This describes a type of satin-finish silk which is exceptionally smooth with a delicate sheen. It has superb drape and is the best silk for sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers.
